Children at the Workbench

As you may already know, Profil Nábytek is a family-owned company where the next generation is gradually taking the helm from the founding fathers. That’s why we’re making a genuine effort to open the door for the younger generation and let them take a look into the world of craftsmanship and manufacturing. We invite students and schools to an engaging tour of our company, where they can see how our furniture is made — from the initial design to the final shipping stage. We’ll show them how modern machines work, how we manage leftover materials sustainably, and what it looks like inside our offices and showroom.

We support local schools and would like to introduce children to the world of manufacturing — a world that can be interesting, and even inspiring for their future.

In mid-February, we welcomed 40 students from the nearby Jiřice Primary School. After some refreshments in our showroom, including homemade croissants prepared by our colleague Míra Čermák, the students split into two groups to tour our entire production facility and also to see the work taking place in our administrative departments.

The higlight of the day was a hands-on workshop, where each student created their own "Profiláček" - an original wooden toy made from plywood blocks and leftover materials. The children sanded the individual pieces themselves, with some even painting them and assembling them using wooden dowels.
